Your files: processed on your device, never uploaded

Every tool on FileDesk — merging, splitting, compressing, and converting PDFs, and tagging MP3 files — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. There is no server that receives your PDF or audio file content, no cloud storage, and no queue of your documents sitting on a machine we operate. When you close the tab, your file and everything derived from it (previews, extracted text, generated output) is gone, because it only ever existed in your browser's memory.

What this means concretely: we have no technical ability to see, recover, or hand over the contents of a file you processed here, because we never received it in the first place.

What we don't collect

FileDesk does not run any analytics or tracking script of our own. We don't have a database of visitors, don't require an account, and don't ask for your email to use any tool.

What our advertising partners may collect

FileDesk is free to use, and that's funded by advertising. To keep the tools free, we work with third-party ad networks who may serve ads on this site. Being third parties, they operate independently of FileDesk and may use cookies, local storage, or device identifiers to:

Measure how many times an ad was shown and clicked
Personalize which ads you see, based on your browsing activity across sites that use the same ad network
Detect ad fraud and abuse

This data collection is governed by each ad network's own privacy policy, not FileDesk's — we don't receive or store the data they collect. If you'd prefer not to receive personalized ads, most browsers let you block third-party cookies, and services like the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page let you opt out across many ad networks at once.

Cookies

FileDesk itself does not set any cookies. Any cookies present on this site come from the advertising partners described above, for the purposes listed.

Children's privacy

FileDesk is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them (we don't collect information from anyone, as described above).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if we add an analytics tool or change ad partners in a way that changes what's collected — we'll update the date at the top of this page.
