What FileDesk is

FileDesk is a set of free, browser-based tools for working with PDFs and podcast MP3 files — merging, splitting, compressing, converting, protecting, and tagging. Each tool runs entirely in your browser; using a tool on this site means you agree to these terms.

No account, no warranty of fitness

FileDesk doesn't require sign-up and doesn't verify who's using it. The tools are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We work to keep them accurate and reliable, but we don't guarantee a given tool will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose — for example, a converted file's formatting may not always match the original perfectly, and you should verify important output yourself before relying on it.

Your responsibility for your files

You're responsible for the files you process here and for having the right to process them. Don't use FileDesk to process content you don't have rights to, or for anything illegal. Since files are processed only in your own browser (see our Privacy Policy), we have no visibility into what you process and no ability to review it — which also means we can't be the ones to catch a misuse; that responsibility sits with you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FileDesk and its operators aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the tools — including data loss, corrupted output, or lost time — even if we've been advised such damages are possible. Because processing happens on your device, we'd also have no way to intervene or recover a file after something goes wrong locally (a browser crash, a closed tab before download) — keep your own backups of anything important.

Advertising

FileDesk is funded by third-party advertising, described in our Privacy Policy. Ads shown on this site are served by our advertising partners, not authored by FileDesk, and we don't pre-screen every ad creative. If you see an ad that seems abusive or misleading, we'd appreciate a heads-up via the contact route below.

Availability and changes

We may add, change, or remove tools, or adjust these terms, at any time. Continuing to use FileDesk after a change means you accept the updated terms — check back here if you want to know what's changed.

Governing approach

These terms are meant to be read in good faith, the way most people would read "free tool, use responsibly, we're not liable for what happens on your end." If a specific clause here turns out to be unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the rest of these terms still stand.
